President Muhammadu Buhari returned from the United Kingdom after a 49-days medical vacation on Friday, March 10.

Upon
arrival, the president while speaking to top government officials at
the Presidential Villa said he came back on a Friday to allow the vice
president Yemi Osinbajo continue in his capacity as the acting
president.
On Monday, March 13, signed a letter of resumption to the National Assembly.
Subsequently, the president on his offcial Facebook page said he is delighted to be back to work.
He said he has officially resumed work with effect from Monday, March 13, after his vacation.
"I
am delighted to be back at work. As I said in my broadcast to the
nation on Friday, the best way to repay your support and kind wishes is
to re-dedicate myself to the service and progress of Nigeria," President Buhari said.

morning, in compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as
amended), I formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of
Representatives, intimating them "that I have resumed my functions as
the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from
Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation."
